She appeared on the sixth and seventh season of American Idol in 2008, and then competed as Adore Delano on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, where she placed in the final three. She went on to compete on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, where she voluntarily left after placing ninth. As a musician, Adore Delano has recorded and released three studio albums: Till Death Do Us Party (2014), After Party (2016), Whatever (2017), and an EP Dirty Laundry (2021). She has also toured around the world, both as the headliner or opening act on various tours. Adore Delano has been an open advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and recently came out as transgender, where she currently uses the pronouns she/her.

After her de-transition in order to appear on American Idol, Delano revealed that she was transgender in 2023 and identified as non-binary for the 6 years prior.
