Its most famous host is disgraced journalist Eddie Brock, and they form a complex and ambiguous anti-hero. With immense strength, agility, and abilities to create weapons and armor, rumours have swirled of Venom’s sexuality, primarily interpreting it as a queer character due to its relationship with Eddie. Director Andy Serkis even referred to a scene in the 2021 film Venom: Let There Be Carnage as Venom’s “coming out party”. In the story, producers also focused on the relationship between Venom and Eddie, characterizing it as a complex love story. Although Venom’s sexuality has never been stated, multiple references made by producers, and their dynamic being regarded as a queer love story by some, lead us to believe that Venom may just be gay.
